So what do you think of this then? The American Recovery and Reinvestment act which was passed in the Senate is to include a $50 million endowment to assist the arts and cultural workfore. This sounds all well and good but i hope you will forgive me for being a little sceptical considering Obama’s vague and underdeveloped Arts Platform document. I know there are bigger fish to fry in Washington at the moment and I don’t mean to go pissing on that huge bonfire especially when his posistive rhetoric is a breath of fresh air.  We all know I’m only bringing this up, not just because the eyes of the world are on Obama and therefore one is obliged to pass comment but because it much easier to go on about whats happening across the water than look at the mess we have right here at home…!

Over and out

ok i know it isnt exactly cutting edge but…

if you have a bit of free time in ol Dublin town try and visit this exhibition – Vermeer, Fabritius and De Hooch at The National Gallery. Even if you arn’t an art history buff who drools at the sight of some Delft amaziness you will still enjoy this fantastic, intelligent, compact piece of curation. I love the way they can really focus on an aspect like perspective and its not as though you can get tired of looking at the gallery’s Vermeer piece. Don’t forget the talks on 22nd and 24th February (free to boot!) and the International Conference on Dutch Art if you are looking for something a little more hard core.
